The organising stage will take around 12 weeks whether you go it alone or call in professionals. Thereafter a builder would be faster through the building stages with a single- storey building complete in 10 to 15weeks on average compared to the average of 26 weeks for the d-i-y project outlined below. A d-i-y project involving some hired help seems to take longer than an all d-i-y job – clearly there is some waiting time.
